Yvonne E. Sawyer

Yvonne Esther Sawyer quietly departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Yvonne was born July 6, 1930 in Washington, DC to the late William Sheridan Broadus and Esther Mary Broadus. After graduating from Cardozo Senior High School, Yvonne went on to work at the Pentagon, where she retired after 30 years of service.

Yvonne was preceded in death by siblings Alicia, William Jr. (Buddy), and Gerald Broadus; husband William Sawyer, and daughter Esther Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Alvonne, Anthony, Shearine, and William Jr. (Jummy); daughter-in-law Annette; 11 grand-children; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
