Yetta R. McDaniel Obituary

Mrs. Yetta R. McDaniel entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 in Washington, D.C. Yetta was born to Albert and Genevieve Milam on August 3rd, 1952, and raised by her mother, father and step-father Edmond Villate in Washington, D.C.


She attended Eastern High School and graduated with the class of 1970. She then attended Howard University graduating in 1974 with a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. Yetta would later go on to have a long and fulfilling career of more than 25 years with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission retiring in 2016 as a Senior Planner.


She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Milam, and Genevieve C. Villate, her step-father Edmond Villate, her cousin Melvin Johnson and her husband Earl McDaniel.


She married Earl on September 11, 1976 and was a devoted and caring mother to their two sons, Kyle and Kenneth. She was an avid reader and churchgoer, being a longtime parishioner of Saint Gabriels in Petworth.


Yetta leaves to cherish her fond memories: her loving sons Kenneth and Kyle McDaniel of Washington, D.C.; step-children, Sheila Berry of Raeford, NC, Keith McDaniel (Twyla) of Raleigh, NC, Cheryl Daniels (Jamar) of Raleigh, NC; many grandchildren and other loving relatives and a host of dear and beloved friends and colleagues.
