In Loving Memory of Virgina M. Parks
Virgina McCall Parks was born in Lewisburg, NC on January 03, 1924. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 05, 2024 at the Rosemont Nursing Facility in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mrs. Parks accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Her favorite scriptures were Proverbs 3:6-7 and the 23rd Psalm. She was initially a member of 10th Street Baptist Church after which she placed membership at Mount Sinai Baptist Church on October 01, 1978.
She was united in marriage at a very early age to Charles Milton McCall. To this union two daughters were born; Cassandra McCall Brown and Celestine McCall McCullough; sons-in-law Dr. Joe B. Brown, Jr and Mr. Alfonzo McCullough. She later married Lono Boyd Parks and they shared their lives together for 41 years! To this union Kenneth Bernard Parks was born!
She worked in the Tea Room at Woodward and Lothrop (also known as “Woodies”) for 29 years and served as a Nannie for Dr. Ann Garment.
She moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia as her health began to fail under the watchful eye of Joe and Cassandra.
Her family gathered around her to celebrate her centennial birthday in January 2024 which was a blessing and memorable milestone.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Cassandra M. Brown (Joe), Celestine M. McCullough (Alfonzo), Kenneth Parks, son, 6 grandchildren, LaTrenda, Kenneth, Tony, Andrea, Edward and Kennice; 5 great grandchildren, two beloved nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
“Mama Jenny” and “Nana” as she was affectionately known will be truly missed. However, memories of her long and fruitful life will forever live in our hearts!
