Veronica J. Henley Obituary


On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Veronica "Ronnie" Jones Henley, a DCPS teacher, international traveler, and a kind and giving person, reached the end of her earthly journey with family by her side. With a degree from North Carolina Central University in 1968, Veronica began her teaching career, joined professional organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma, and served her beloved Sherman Avenue and Mount Pleasant Plains communities in Northwest D.C. and beyond.


She leaves to honor her life her son, Todd Henley; sisters, Dr. Judith Jones Webb, Antoinette Jones Gorham, and Barbara Jones Jenkins (Thomas); brothers, Parker D. Jones, Jr. and Kenneth Jones; aunt, Harriet Jones Lee and uncle, Richard Lee Jones (Janice); and a grand host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.


 The Rev. Dr. Winston C. Ridley, Jr., Pastor of D.C.'s The Greater First Baptist Church, will officiate. Ample parking is available on-site.
