Vernice Roane, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at a rehabilitation center in Potomac, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of Philip R. Roane, Ph.D. and the proud mother of Crystal Regina Reed-Tweedy (Bryan) and Donald Howard Reed, Jr. (Tracy). Vernice was the dear grandmother of Morgan Reed Tweedy, Camryn Paige Tweedy and Harper Alivia Reed.

Vernice is survived by two sisters, Claudia Killingham and Brenda Hodge (Leo), two brothers William and Anthony Killingham, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Vernice was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
