Vandoster L. Tabb Obituary

 

Vandoster L. Tabb, LTC (Ret), 88, of Silver Spring, MD died peacefully on September 11, 2023, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evangelyn; daughters, Yolanda Jenkins, Jacinda Newland (Max Newland), Larticia and Myrtinia (Jeremy Kaufman); his youngest brother, Cardell; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Van served in the US Army for 20 years (two tours in Vietnam); was awarded a Bronze Star; and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He worked for the US State Department Foreign Service for another 22 years. He valued family, was an avid bowler and ice cream enthusiast. He will be missed by all who knew him.
