Roland James Dawes, born in Culpeper, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Washington, DC. He was the devoted husband of the late Catherine Proctor Dawes and the beloved son of the late Alberta Washington Dawes and Adolph Marcellus Dawes.Roland James Dawes leaves behind a legacy of courage, integrity, and community pride. His life's work uplifted others and helped build a stronger, more connected community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He is survived by his children; Roanna, Don, Melvin (Kyle), Debbie, Linda, and Ramon (Paulette), nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
