“FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS”
Roderick Tremont Griffin affectionately known as “Rod” entered everlasting life on Saturday July 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Ryan Harris and his aunt and second mother, Linda Griffin. Roderick was born in Washington, D.C. on September 8, 1965, and educated in the D.C. and Prince Georges County Public School systems. Roderick also attended Maryland University College Park and graduated with honors. He had a special love for math, chemistry and art and used his passion to help many people. If Rod was involved, it would be a success. Roderick started a successful career with the Department of Motor Vehicles, which gave him many opportunities. Roderick had a special love for his family, especially his mom. She always looked forward to him saying “Hi Ma”.
Roderick grew up in Fort Lincoln and was very supportive and concerned. He frequently drove her to and from community meetings, doctor’s appointments, and grocery shopping, long after he moved out of the neighborhood. All who know him will remember his ability to meet people at their place of need, his infectious laugh, engaging personality, love for people and his giving spirit. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted mother, Lillie Griffin; Son, Roderick Harris, special cousin, Reginald Johnson, aunts; Tina Green (Frank), and Helen Cross, and a host of other loving family and friends.
