Pierpont M. Mobley Obituary

Pierpont M. Mobley Obituary

The heavenly gates opened on Thursday, January 22, 2026, to welcome Pierpont Morgan Mobley, our beloved husband and father, home.

Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Moses and Geneva Lott Mobley and was preceded in death by his siblings, James Mobley and Martha Mobley Dunbar.

Pierpont will always be remembered as a vibrant force of nature, with an ever-present smile, laugh, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family, his community, and his country. He proudly served for 22 years in the United States military through the District of Columbia Army National Guard Reserves.

His deep interest in civil rights, politics, and government inspired him to earn a Master of Legal Studies from Antioch University School of Law and to build a distinguished career focused on Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) law. He was widely known for his dedicated advocacy, mentoring, counseling, and steadfast support of others navigating EEO matters and their professional journeys. He was truly a public servant and distinguished himself as the first African American to serve in the White House Personnel Office across four presidential administrations.

Left to cherish a legacy of precious memories are his devoted wife of 58 years, L. Jeannette Mobley; son, Tony; daughter, Patricia; granddaughters, Deja and Jada; great-grandsons, Amias and Amir; daughter-in-law, Victoria; brother, Moses Clarence (Grace); nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends.

The family wishes to thank everyone for your prayers, love, and support during this time.
