Pamela L.G. Raiford Obituary

Pamela Louise Gladden Raiford, 78, peacefully died in her residence on Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was born in Washington, DC on November 12, 1944, the loving daughter of Grace and James Robert Gladden, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, pioneer, and educator. Pam was married for 44 years to the late Roger L. Raiford, MD, a well-respected orthopedic surgeon in Silver Spring, where they raised their two sons, Gregory and Brian. She attended Long Island University and began a runway fashion modeling career that lasted throughout her life in the Washington, DC area. Pam was a devoted mother who frequently traveled around the country with her two sons to bicycle motocross events. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fitness, racquetball and taking care of her dog.

Pam is survived by two sons, Gregory of Walled Lake, MI and Brian of Washington, DC; one brother, J. Robert Gladden and his wife, C. Andrea Brunhoelzl, of New York, NY. We will greatly miss her smile, elegance, and humour.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society (info@gladdensociety.org).
