Nettie Pearl Drayton Hailes, 97, of Washington, DC went from labor to reward Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was a retired real estate professional, community activist and dedicated member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Washington, DC.  

She is survived by her son, Rev. Edward A. Hailes, Jr. (Janet), daughter, Pastor Patricia H. Fears (Ernest, III), grandchildren LaKisha Bethel Lite(Derek), Sheena Hailes, Ernest Fears, IV (Tiffany), Audrey E. Hailes, Patrick Fears (Keisha), Francis Fears, Alexa Smith(Dezmen), great grandchildren, Audrey A. Hailes, Korri Fears, Kree Fears, and Cash Smith.
