On February 8, 2021, Muriel Aikens-Arnold , 69, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully. Muriel graduated from Western High School in Washington, DC, and attended Syracuse University prior to receiving her B.A. degree from Howard University and her J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. She had a distinguished career as a labor relations specialist with the U.S. Postal Service; then as a criminal defense attorney and Civil Division mediator in DC Superior Court, prior to her appointment as an Administrative Judge with the D.C. Office of Employee Appeals.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, William Arnold; her mother, Agatha Aikens; siblings, Linda Aikens and L. Harold Aikens; four step-children, Denise Rowe of Potomac, Christopher Arnold of Dallas, Cynthia Collins and Angela Anderson of Memphis; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
