Mrs. Mayme Wilkins Holt, age 101, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Raleigh, NC. May her soul Rest In Peace.

Mrs. Holt had Pearl status (65 years of membership) with her beloved Zeta Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Holt, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, was a retired teacher of English with the Fairfax County Public School System and taught English at A&T State University for five years. Mrs. Holt was a lover of music and performed as a vocalist for many years. She said her greatest achievement was in helping others to broaden their talents and careers. She founded the Friends of Ben Holt Society, Inc., presenting aspiring, established and  renowned artists in concert. Proceeds went to the Julliard School for Performing Arts where she established a permanent endowment (the Ben Holt Memorial Scholarship for Students of Voice) in honor of her beloved son Ben Holt, Jr.
