Mary Hall Obituary

Mary Ruth Elizabeth was born as a Wiseman but later married Leon Augustus Hall (deceased). She was born on May 17, 1935 in Prince Frederick, MD at home to the late Lucy Louise Mitchell and Eugene Wiseman. She attended Prince Frederick Public schools where she completed up to the eleventh grade.

Mary Ruth then went on to pursue being a Teacher’s Aide in her earlier years and a domestic worker in her later years. Her hobbies included volunteering in the community and church. She also enjoyed gardening. Her favorite plant was an azalea and her favorite flowers were roses. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, especially The Williams Brothers, and Rhythm & Blues singers Clarence Carter and James Brown.

Ruth will always be remembered as a quiet, kind, giving and passionate woman. She was always optimistic, even in the face of adversity and her home was where everyone laid their head when there was nowhere else for them to go.

In addition to her parents and former spouse, Mary Ruth is preceded in her homecoming by her sibling, Helen Wiseman and children, Barbara Anne Parker and Leon Augustus Hall, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory Lucy E. Hall, Frederick Lee Hall, Michael Gilchrist, Christine Yvette Gentry and Charles “Moe” Gentry. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lillian “Joyce” McKenzie, Tarnisha Williams, Earl Harris, Tiffany Hall, Frederick Johnson, JaBob Garrison, Keisha Gilbert, Michael Gilchrist Jr., Ronald Gilchrist, Marquis Gentry, Xavier White, Yakeisha Richard, Larry “Spud” Washington and Robyn “Blondie” Hall; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
