Marjorie A. Browne Obituary

Marjorie Ann Browne passed away peacefully in her Washington, DC Capitol Hill home on Wednesday, July 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick A. Browne Sr. and Bernice A. Browne, her brother Frederick A. Browne Jr., her niece Anika D. Browne and a host of loving aunts and uncles.


She held over 55 years of dedicated service and distinction as an International Affairs Specialist for the Library of Congress (LOC) and was notably recognized for her vast achievements by the United States House of Representatives as the longest-serving tenured employee for the LOCs Legislative Branch in the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade Division of the Congressional Research Service (CRS). She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend and staple in her Capitol Hill community, as a third-generation resident.


She leaves behind her beloved family; her Capitol Hill neighbors and her Library of Congress co-workers and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
