Lucy Hubbard Obituary

Lucy Hubbard transitioned peacefully on January 6, 2026, just shy of her 103rd birthday. She lived a joyful life surrounded by family and friends in Washington DC, and then for the last 9 years at Riderwood Village. She was retired from a 33 year career at Howard University College of Dentistry. Lucy was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, where she was active in the sodality. Whether playing bridge, socializing or spending time with family, Lucy's cheer, wit, and optimistic spirit will always be remembered.


She is survived by nephew Edward Arrendell II (Angela), nieces Lorraine Dominguez (Alfredo), Carolyn Green and Angela Hubbard Quander (Ricardo), great nephews, great nieces and a host of family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Polous Hubbard, brother Edward Carlton Arrendell, sister Thelma Robinson, niece Wanda Arrendell and nephews Robert and Dominic Arrendell.
