Lewis D. Washington Obituary

Lewis DeVon Washington was born on June 29, 1970 at the Columbia Hospital for Women to his loving parents Dianne Beale and Aloysius Washington.

Lewis was educated in Washington DC public schools. Early on, he exhibited an extraordinary gift of having a photographic memory both visually and audibly. He could look at something and instantly understand it, remember it and describe it to you in detail.

Lewis had a great sense of humor, loved people and with his gifted memory he used those skills to work at Horace & Dickeys, Ace Hardware, Goodwill Industries, UPS and Dollar Tree.

Lewis was an avid chess player; loved hip hop music and he was fascinated with the world’s great ancient civilizations; everything about the universe and was always aware of world events.

Although he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in the Baptist tradition; Lewis was keenly interested in all of worlds religions.

He recognized a universal faith in a higher power and that sustained him and gave him strength throughout life’s challenges.

Lewis loved his parents and was a compassionate person. He was his father’s caregiver in the final stages of his life.  Years later; his compassionate caregiving extended to his stepfather for the final stages of his life.

Lewis was proceeded in death by his father; Aloysius Washington.

Leaving to mourn his loss is his beloved mother, Diane Beale; Aunt Sheila Beale; Uncle Alfred Beale (Hilda); nieces: Lakysha Truesdale, Laverne Beale, Jessica Beale; nephew James Truesdale along with a host of relatives and friends.
