Kimberly Brown Smith M.D., Ph.D., 53. passed away August 3, 2022, in Bethesda, Maryland. Kim was an Ophthalmologist and Clinical Team Leader and Supervisor at the Food and Drug Administration.

She is survived by her husband, Abel L. Smith III; her mother, Vera Brown; her daughter, Vera Elinor ("Ellie") Smith; her sister Cynthia Brown (Philip); her brother, Michael Brown (Tarita); her brother-in-law, Kenton A. Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
