Judith E. Lindsay, known by her family and friends as Judie, left us at 5:04 pm on September 23, 2024, at her home in Waldorf, Maryland. Kischea Talbert and Jordan Lindsay, her daughters, were with her in her final moments. Judie was born on April 11, 1951, in Middleboro, Massachusetts, and graduated from Western High School in the District of Columbia. She spent some time abroad in Geneva, Switzerland with her parents William and Virginia Dabney. Her father William served as the Under Secretary General of the Societies of the Red Cross while her mother devoted her life to raising her beloved Judie.
Judie attended college at Virginia State University, where she met and later married Albert J Linday. She went to work for the School of Music at the Catholic University, in Washington D.C, for over a decade before pursuing a career with the Department of Agriculture, Forest Service Division. She retired in March of 2023.
Judie had a love for animals. She was a horse owner and loved riding her beloved “Baby” at the Daniel’s Ranch in Severn, Maryland. She always had a couple of dogs and cats by her side and filled her life with loving them. She also enjoyed rubbishing through thrift stores and yard sales. She was an engaging eccentric and got real joy from finding things that were old fashioned and out of the ordinary. She was a Dallas Cowboy fan, which the family didn’t hold against her(smile), and loved watching old movies such as Wagon Train.
Judie was the mother to the late Michael Lindsay. She survived by her: daughters, Kischea Talbert, Jordan Lindsay; Son-in-Law, Michael Talbert; grandchildren, Mia Talbert, Brianna Talbert, Dominque Talbert, Michaela Davis, Michael Talbert Jr., MeKail Lindsay, Zyrique Lindsay; and great granddaughter Nevaeh Lyric Talbert. She also left behind her beloved dogs Ziggy and Aries. She will be missed.
