Jonathan Hendricks Blunt, 57, passed away suddenly on June 8, 2026. Born on October 29, 1968, in Washington, D.C., Jonathan was a dedicated family man, beloved brother, loyal friend, and respected construction professional whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched countless lives.
A graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Jonathan spent much of his career managing large-scale construction projects and working alongside family at Essex Construction. He was known for his easygoing spirit, quick wit, love of family gatherings, and passion for barbecuing, cooking, and entertaining.
Jonathan is survived by his cherished daughter, Mari Elizabeth Blunt and soulmate Traci Otey Blunt; his siblings, Roger Reckling Blunt, Jr., Jennifer Mari Blunt, and Amy Elizabeth Blunt; and a host of extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Major General Roger Reckling Blunt, Sr. (Ret.) and DeRosette Yvonne Hendricks Blunt.
The family welcomes floral tributes, which may be delivered to Sixth Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 28, 2026, or prior to the service on Monday morning.
