Joan White Obituary
On February 14, 2021, Joan Lucas White, 88, of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully in the hospital with family by her side. She was the only child of the late Clarence E. and Lenora B. Lucas. Joan graduated from Dunbar High School in Washington, DC, and attended D.C. Minor Teachers College. She had a distinguished career of 31 years with Department of Defense, Headquarters Marine Corps as the Head of the Records Section. She was predeceased by her husband, the late LaVerne G. White.
She is survived by her children, Debra J.W. Williams, Jeffrey Lindenwhite, Kevin D. White (Gracia), Vicki L.W. Anderson (Leon); seven grandchildren, Amber, Kendall II, Shannon, Aaron, Camille, Megan and Kyle; six great-grandchildren, Canaan, Sophia, Olivia, Aman, Amari and Zoë; and a host of other relatives and friends..
