James T. Robinson III

James Telfair Robinson III, born to the late James Telfair Robinson II and Helen Fraser Robinsonin, passed away suddenly at his home in Washington, DC on October 29, 2023. After his birth the family later moved to Baltimore, MD where he graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He entered Howard University in 1961 as a physics major and played football and baseball, graduating with a BA degree in physics. He began his working career at Potomac Electric Power Company and shortly thereafter moved to Naval Ships Systems Command for the Department of Defense as a Systems Engineer, where he retired after 30 years. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Underwater Adventure Seekers, Black Ski and loved playing tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Edmonds Robinson and his son, Christopher Stewart Robinson, brothers; Phillip Fraser Robinson and David Gourdine Robinson; two grandsons, Carter James Robinson and Christopher Stewart Robinson, II; nephews, Phillip Robinson, Jr. and Micheal Robinson; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son James Telfair Robinson, IV.
