James P. Key Obituary

 

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, James Preston Key peacefully in his Washington, DC home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Beulah H. Key. He was honorably discharged, after serving eight years in the United States Army. He then started and ran his own detective/security business for more than 30 years. James was very big on family. It meant everything to him and it existed in many forms: his beautiful wife and only son. his Masonic family; Charles Datcher Lodge #15 and Mecca Temple #10, his Knights of Columbus family and his Ward 4 family where he was a respected member of the Advisory council.


He is survived by his son, James P. Key II; his grandchildren; Andrea, James III and Evan and his great grandchildren; Angela, Andre and Amani. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
