Gregory Alexander Johnson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Sergeant Gregory Johnson (Retired), who peacefully entered eternal rest on January 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

A proud Marine Corps veteran and dedicated law enforcement officer, Greg devoted over two decades to serving the Loudoun County community as part of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Known for his exceptional leadership, compassion, and unwavering support of his troops, Greg was a mentor, protector, and advocate for the citizens of Loudoun County.

Greg, his wife Nancy, and their two children, Clara and Elijah, have been very dedicated, long-time members of St. Matthew's. Greg’s legacy of service, faith, and community will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We invite all who knew Greg to join us in celebrating his extraordinary life, sharing memories, and finding comfort in the fellowship of family and friends.

It is the request of the family that Greg’s Celebration of Life be a joyous occasion. They encourage everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts and/or Chicago Bears gear and to “Bear down,” a phrase used in football to inspire perseverance and determination, which reflects how Greg lived his life and how it should be celebrated.

Parking: Please carpool and park off-site if you are able, as we anticipate this being a large service.
