Frances Louise Prince was born on September 19, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Louis N. Smith, Sr. and Marlene N. Smith. She became and was an accomplished pianist, organist, flutist, and vocalist. Frances earned her bachelor's and master's degrees of music from Howard University and utilized her musical gifts by teaching vocal music, in the District of Columbia Public School System, for four decades. She performed at the White House, The Kennedy Center, and other prestigious venues. She was a member of Foundry United Methodist Church, Washington, DC, where she was a former president, of the choir, and director of the youth choir.
Frances transitioned this life peacefully into the loving presence of our Lord on March 31, 2023. She is survived by her beloved husband, of 59 years, Norman Kent Prince; devoted and loving daughter, Allison L. Prince; and a very loving grandson, Trent N. Crawford. She is also survived by two sisters: Dr. Dorothy LaRouth Perry (Dr. Robert Perry) and Connie L. Martin (Charles Martin-deceased). She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis N. Smith, Jr. She leaves a host of cherished family members and friends.
