Dellena M. Cunningham, PhD, affectionately known as Dee, Lena, Aunt Nina, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Matilda D. Cunningham,MD and Robert M. Cunningham, MD.
Lena excelled in academics and passions for tennis, golf and dance. A trailblazer in clinical psychology, she earned her PhD from Howard University. Lena was a dedicated advocate for mental health and juvenile justice, leading initiatives at the Maryland Dept. of Juvenile Services. She leaves a legacy as a prolific author and community leader.
Dellena will be loved forever by a host of family, close associates and friends.
