Dawn Michelle Taylor Obituary

Dawn Michelle Taylor was born on January 14, 1970, in Washington, DC, to Glenda Hubbard (Hall) and the late Barry Hodge. She is survived by her beloved mother, Glenda, and her cherished Pop, Russell Maloney. Dawn leaves behind her loving children: her son Christopher (CJ), her daughters Kayla and Darian, and one adored grandson, Jamarri.

She was deeply loved by her Aunt Thersa and Uncle Cedric Owens, who were like a second set of parents. Her cousins David (Dominique) and Lawrence Graham were like brothers to her. Dawn also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Dawn graduated from All Saints Catholic School in May of 1988. She later moved to Norfolk, VA, before returning to Washington, DC in 1991. In 1993, she began working at the International Monetary Fund, where she remained a dedicated and respected employee until her retirement in 2020.

Dawn believed fiercely in the power of FAMILY. She made it her mission to stay connected with as many loved ones as possible. A survivor, a hard worker, and the embodiment of a “get it done” attitude, Dawn was admired for her resilience, determination, and boundless love. She was deeply loved by so many, and her warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her coworkers adored her, and she, in turn, loved them deeply.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”

— Psalm 116:15
