Billy R. Ford, Sr. Obituary

Billy Roland Ford Sr. departed this life on January 25, 2025, in the presence of his wife Verlie, after a long illness. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late William and Lula Ford and was the youngest of eleven children. He was a military veteran, former Metropolitan DC Police Officer and retired Federal Protective Service Officer. He loved the Lord and enjoyed spreading God’s word through poetry, stories, and other writings.


He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Ford; four sisters, Elizabeth Harrison, Onita Alexander, Louise Calloway, and Jessica Ford; and three brothers, Elbert Ford, Isaac Ford and Charles Ford.


He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Verlie Lynch Ford; his sons, Billy Roland Ford Jr. (Danielle), Martinsburg, WV and Nathan Horner (Fumie), Hollywood, CA; one daughter, Tammy Williams, Baltimore, MD; his brother, William Ford, Birmingham, AL and sister, Annie Hawthorne, Washington, DC; his granddaughters, Teal Ford, Tiara M. DeVoss (Bryce), Paris McMillian (Kyle), Namie Horner, Shekinah Green, and Kevonia Green; his grandsons, Jashawn Ford, Brandon Williams, and Hero Horner; his great granddaughter Katia DeVoss, and great grandsons Reison Ford, Saint Ford, and Theo McMillian.
