Bernard Emmerson Cole II, devoted son of the late Sylvia T. Welch and Bernard Emmerson Cole, was born on October 14, 1947 in Baltimore, MD. He was the oldest of five children, often referred to as “Big Brother.” He departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in Washington, DC.
Bernard graduated from Baltimore City College in Baltimore, MD. After graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Bernard later furthered his education at Cortez Peters Business School of Baltimore, earning an Associate’s Degree. He retired from the Social Security Administration after a rewarding career.
An outgoing and friendly person, Bernard loved to travel and enjoy life. His most recent trip took him to Paris where he joined his brother, Steven. An avid cards player, he spent countless hours perfecting his craft and enjoying the company of his friends.
He leaves to mourn three brothers, Steven, Michael and Tony; one sister, Denise; one nephew, Marvin Carter, Jr. and one niece, Brandi Carter. He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
