Alfred W. Montgomery

Alfred Wilder Montgomery passed peacefully on February 22, 2023, in his home in Washington, DC. A native Washingtonian, Alfred was born on August 4, 1953, to Thelma Johnson Montgomery and James Henry Montgomery, who predeceased him. He graduated from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 and was a dedicated public servant, spending decades in regulatory veterinary medicine at the U.S Department of Agrilculture and the U.S Food and Drug Administration. He served in the U.S Army Veterinary Corps (Reserves), deploying within the Operation Desert Storm, and was a retired Commander for the U.S Public Health Service.

He is survived by hs loving wife Cecily E. Collier-Montgomery, adoring children Meagan, Cecily (Reza), Alexina, and Yasiman; cherished grandchildren Landon, Zoe, Jacey, and Wilder, and a host of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Dr. Alfred Montgomery Endowed Scholarship Fund, created at Tuskegee University to support students at the college of Veterinary Medicine.
