William Henry Burrus, Jr., 81, passed away in Upper Marlboro, MD. He was a former National President of The American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, and was the first African-American to be elected president of any national union in direct balloting by the membership. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one of his four daughters, Kimberly Elaine.
He leaves to cherish his legacy and memory: his wife and best friend of 33 years, Ethelda Burrus; three daughters, Valerie Jean, Doni Mari and Kristy Lanette; stepson, Richard Antwon; seven grandchildren, Sharmecia, Vadon, Richard, James, Jammal, Donny and Krissia; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Dr. Derrick Harkins will be officiating, and Rev. Darryl D. Roberts is the Senior Pastor.
