Theresa Eris Peters, 94, passed away in Falmouth, Massachusetts. A native of Ocala, Florida, Mrs. Peters spent most of her adult life in Washington, DC. She retired to East Falmouth with her husband of 49 years, Henry R. Peters, Sr., who passed away in 1999.
Mrs. Peters earned two Bachelor's degrees - in Chemistry from West Virginia State University at Institute; and in Pharmacy from Howard University, Washington, DC.
She had a fulfilling career as a Registered Pharmacist. She and Henry owned and operated an independent drug store near the Howard University campus for 20 years, and she later served as lead pharmacist at a community clinic operated by the Washington, DC Government. She also volunteered regularly with local and national pharmacists' associations.
A lifelong fan of popular fiction and crossword puzzles, she expanded her interests in retirement: walking and stationary cycling for fitness, spending time with family, cheering on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and being a super-fan of the long-running television soap opera "General Hospital".
Survivors include her daughter, Maria Teresa Vandergriff and son-in-law, Leonard Vandergriff of Washington, DC; sister-in-law, Nora L. Peters of Locust Grove, VA; a granddaughter; and extended family and friends in the Falmouth area, Washington, DC and beyond.
