Phoebe Anderson Layton

Phoebe Anderson Layton, 101, died peacefully at her home in Washington, DC. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Layton; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, two daughters and her two siblings.

Phoebe was born in Lawrenceville, VA, and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA, Talladega College and Michigan State University. She was a Math Teacher and Guidance Counselor and retired from Jefferson Junior High in SW Washington in 1977.
