Nathaniel Taylor Stanley (52), a resident of Washington, DC transitioned on June 1, 2018. He was the son of the late Rev. Dr. A. Knighton Stanley and Mrs. Beatrice Perry Soublet. A 1987 graduate of Morehouse College, Nathaniel served tirelessly as an advocate for persons living with mental illness and was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and liturgist.
A memorial service honoring his life and legacy will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 900-4th Street S.W., Washington, DC 20024, on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10 am. A repast will follow at Peoples Congregational UCC at 4704-13th Street N.W., Washington, DC 20011.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved mother, Beatrice Perry Soublet; two sisters, Kathryn V. Stanley and Taylor Stanley Iyoho; a special sister, Yeme Mengistu-Gunn; a beloved aunt, Joan Stanley and a host of other beloved family and friends.
