Laverne Parker Jones was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Ruby Jackson and William James Jackson. Laverne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bernard Jones; step-son, Bernard, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Cressie Ross; step-daughter, Kathy Williams (Lawrence, Jr.); nephews, Gregory and Mwazi Jackson; half-brothers, William Jackson and Lee Jackson and a host of cousins, grand-nieces and nephews; dear friends, Linda Hasty and Kathy James and godchild, David James.
Laverne and Bernard traveled extensively and enjoyed their years together as a blessed couple.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.
