Keith Hamilton Butler departed this life on Monday, August 20, 2018. Keith was born on April 10, 1952 in Alexandria, Virginia, to the late Woodrow Randall II and Dorothy Butler Horton. Keith attended Norfolk State University and worked for the Bureau of Mines in the Federal Government as an Information Technologist for 10 years. He left the government and began his teaching career with D.C. Public Schools as the Director of Computer Training Development. His desire to affect change by touching the lives of young people for the next 15 years led him to various schools in D.C. In 2008 he created “Butler Computer Labs” throughout the Maryland and D.C. area. The labs helped children learn computer skills.
Keith was best known for managing and promoting a number of popular clubs throughout Washington D.C. His love for entertainment and music was consistent with his love for people and God. Even when faced with life’s challenges, Keith was rooted and grew in God’s word. He took God at his word to not be discouraged and to be of good cheer. His everyday message to everyone he met was “God is Good.”
Keith leaves his passion for trusting God and serving others. He will forever be remembered by his loving daughter: Keisha Williams (Dwight); granddaughter Bellamy Williams; brother Jerome Butler (Patricia); uncle Bobby Harris (Pearl); aunt, Bernice Duggins; niece, Jereme Butler (Puma); nephew, Jerome Butler, Jr. (Kemery); and a host of cousins and friends.
