Glendale Law Obituary

Glendale Hazel Law, 100, died at home in Washington, DC. She was the wife of the late Clarence "Booley" Law; precious mother of Cynthia Law and Aletta Ellen Law; beloved mother-in-law of Gregory R. Bennett; devoted grandmother of Michael D. Morgan, Sr. (Michelle) and Lamar R. Bennett (Christine); great-grandmother of Michael D. Morgan, Jr., Beau M. Bennett, Elle Marie Bennett and to the late Lamont J. Ogburn.

Hazel was born to the late Dr. William Ceafus and Maggie Mitchell on Saturday, September 1, 1917, in Bluefield, WV. She had five sisters. Hazel married Booley on December 7, 1941, and celebrated 65 years of marriage. Booley and Hazel moved from Wilcoe, WV to DC in 1963.

Hazel worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Washington Hospital Center until she retired in 1986 at 69 years old. Hazel sewed beautiful clothes for her family (suits, coats, dresses, hats). People loved her cookouts and enjoyed her BBQ, rolls and potato salad. Hazel was an avid gardener, dancer and traveler. Hazel was a proud woman that worked hard all her life. She was the kind of woman who was as good-hearted as she was smart and funny. Hazel was the sweetest spirit and she will be missed for the rest of our lives.
