Mr. Edward “Eddie” Joseph Dutch, 74, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2018 at 7:20 AM at Providence Hospital. He is now home with his brothers and sister in heaven. He was born October 24, 1944 in Washington, DC to Bessie and Louis Dutch. He attended Cardozo High School in Northwest Washington, DC and was drafted into the United States Army in September of 1965.
After serving his time in the army, he worked for the Post Office for two years and then joined the US Park Police in 1970. He had a wonderful career for 34 years. Eddie loved his job and it was an important part of his life. He started his career in Rock Creek Park and went to the Kennedy Center then he finished his career at Rock Creek in Meridian Hill Park. During his career, he escorted numerous dignitaries and notables. Most of all, Eddie loved his family and family gatherings. Especially the picnics in Rock Creek Park. He was a diehard Redskins fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Billy, Joe, Frank, David, James, Stanley, Alfred; and one sister, Louise. He is survived by his loving wife, Randi Dutch; his daughters, Jewel and Lisa; his son, Edward (Dee); grandchildren, Dominique, Ashley, Paris, Diamond, Gem; and great grandchild, Sapphire.
