Daniel L. Lamar

Daniel "Dan" Lee Lamar, 84, of Silver Spring, MD was the son of the late Pierce and Elizabeth (Moore) Lamar.  Dan proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class.  Always eager to learn, he enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and was a licensed master barber.  He was also a culinary connoisseur, who proudly told his tales of mastery cooking for the elite of Washington, DC.  Dan was predeceased by six siblings.
He is survived by his four children, Sandra Harmon, Debra Barnes, Francoise Lamar and Dan Lamar, Jr.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Aaron Lamar; and four sisters, Vernell Phillips, Shirley Overton, Elizabeth Barrow and Justyne Pitts.
