Charles Tyrone Thompson “Ty”was born in Washington, DC to the late Charles and Joeva Thompson. In his early years Ty attended The People’s Community Baptist Church in Silver Springs, Maryland. He was also baptized at The People’s Community Baptist Church. He also participated with the Boy Scout’s of America in troop 53. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Ty attended Howard University in Washington, DC. He worked in the Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service for 32 years. At the Treasury Department, he was active in the organization “Blacks In Government”. In May of 2012, Ty retired from the Treasury Department.
Ty was admired by many because of his gentle character, warm smile and loyal friendship. To know him was to love him. He was an avid sports fan that loved the Washington Redskins, fashionable ties, old school music, bowling and playing pool.
Ty leaves to cherish his memory his sister Cassandra Ann Johnson and Nephew Christopher Trent Johnson of Silver Spring, Maryland. His best friend Mr. & Mrs. Andrew & Senita Beverly of Laurel, Maryland. His Beloved dear friend Angela Stephens and her children Nick, Carissa and Giovanni of Stafford , VA
