Clarence Carnot Evans, Jr., MD, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at George Washington University Hospital after a brief illness.  He was 89.  Born in Washington, DC, he attended the Garden of Children on S Street, NW, Shaw Junior High School and Dunbar High School, before graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon School in Northfield, MA.  He graduated from Howard University and Howard University College of Medicine and did postgraduate training in Dermatology in Long Beach, CA and Chicago, IL.  In addition to his private medical practice in an underserved area of Northeast Washington for over 35 years, he worked for 40 years for the US Food and Drug Administration, during part of which he chaired its Division of Dermatology.  He was also an Assistant Professor at Howard University College of Medicine for many years.

Carnot was extremely active in the DC community, as a founding member of the Huntsmen, founding member of the Century Club, Limited, member of the What Good Are We, and a former President of the Daniel Hale Williams Medical Reading Club.   He also formerly chaired the Section of Dermatology for the National Medical Association.

Carnot is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith Ann Evans, three children: Monica, Carnot III, and Barrett (Claudia), two grandchildren, and a host of cousins whom he loved immensely.

Our prayers are with the family at this time. Carnot was our family Dermatologist for about 30 years. He was a wonderful friend, neighbor and golf partner. His kind manners and gentle smiles along with a very concerning conversation will be missed. Peace and Prayers
