Lawson S. Rogers was born in New York, New York in 1927. As a child, he was exceptional in mathematics and would later attend Howard University's engineering school from 1957-1959. He entered the U.S. Air Force after high school and served in the Korean War in the early 1950's. He served as a law enforcement officer, as a U.S. Capitol Police officer, and later as a U.S. Marshal. He led tour groups to the Caribbean island of Barbados for several years.
He is survived by his son, Gregory E. Rogers; his daughter, Dawna M. Rogers Evans; many cousins in New York, Barbados, Canada, Great Britain; and many friends.
Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery.
